1. The service
Tr4kr is a personal record-keeping utility that may help users organize transactions, categories, income, expenses, investments, assets, debt, and estimated net worth. Features may include manual entry, CSV import, summaries, charts, and locally stored calculations.
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app in accordance with these terms and applicable app-store rules.
2. No financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice
Tr4kr provides organizational tools only. It does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, credit, debt, insurance, or legal advice. Calculations, charts, categories, balances, savings figures, and net-worth estimates may be incomplete or inaccurate and must not be treated as professional advice or verified financial statements.
You remain responsible for financial decisions and should consult an appropriately qualified professional when needed.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to use Tr4kr lawfully and to:
- review imported and manually entered information for accuracy;
- maintain appropriate device security and backups;
- avoid using the app to violate laws or the rights of others;
- avoid disrupting, reverse engineering, exploiting, or misusing the app or website except where applicable law expressly permits it; and
- avoid relying on Tr4kr as the sole copy of information you cannot afford to lose.
4. Your data and backups
You retain responsibility for information you enter or import. The app is currently designed primarily around local device storage. Device failure, app deletion, operating-system changes, corrupted files, import errors, software defects, or missing backups may result in data loss.
You should keep independent copies of important records. Tr4kr is not a bank, accounting ledger, tax filing system, brokerage, custodian, or guaranteed backup service.
5. CSV imports and calculations
CSV formats vary. The importer may misread dates, delimiters, values, types, categories, signs, duplicate rows, or unexpected columns. You must review imported records and calculations. Importing the same file more than once may create duplicate transactions unless duplicate detection is expressly provided by the version you use.
6. Availability and changes
The app and website are provided on an as-available basis. Features may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued. Compatibility with a particular device, operating system, file format, or app-store version is not guaranteed.
7. Third-party services
Tr4kr may depend on services supplied by Apple, Cloudflare, email providers, device operating systems, or open-source software. Those services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. Tr4kr is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tr4kr is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or collateral, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, non-infringement, or data preservation.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of Tr4kr will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost opportunities, financial decisions, tax consequences, or lost or corrupted data arising from or related to Tr4kr.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law. Consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app at any time. The right to use Tr4kr may be suspended or terminated if you materially violate these terms, misuse the service, or create legal or security risk.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as Tr4kr changes. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Courts located in British Columbia will have jurisdiction, subject to applicable consumer rights.
